Power Systems Engineer - Ellesmere Port - Hybrid - £80K DOE
A client of mine in the Energy and Power Equipment Solutions industry is looking to appoint a power and energy systems engineer to join their business.
They are looking for someone with experience working in a technical role for a UK DNO or TNO to join and be responsible for developing a high-level Energy Systems Transition strategy with a whole system approach.
Responsibilities
- Share industry experience and provide guidance to members of the team as appropriate.
- Be the main point of contact for technical queries relating to Electrical Power Systems.
- Collaborate with Energy Network partners to scope and develop robust challenge statements to enable innovation in specific business areas to drive positive change across the industry.
- Host industry workshops and meetings to develop ambitious proposals and project plans for presentation to industry partners.
- Develop credible technology development and trial propositions, in conjunction with innovators, for consideration by industry and external investment partners.
- Assist with the technical due diligence required to support industry investment.
- Develop proposals and project plans for presentation to industry partners.
- Seek out new technologies, innovative SMEs and value-adding service providers.
- Assist innovators in identifying potential markets for new technologies.
- Support the delivery of projects and deployment of solutions.
Requirements
- Experience in a technical role, preferably working for a UK DNO or TNO, with an excellent understanding of a range of business areas including but not limited to operations, asset management, health and safety, business planning, innovation, fault performance.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships across a broad range of partners, resolve conflicts and manage expectations of multiple stakeholders.
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant energy industry subject.
- Chartered Engineer.
- Small to medium group facilitation experience.
- Small to medium team leadership experience.
- Experience of working with or in a small to medium enterprise.
- An understanding of the legal and commercial factors associated with solutions development.
- Knowledge of the RIIO regulatory regime and of both NIA and SIF funding streams.
